Terms of use
Terms of Use
These Terms govern use of the Build A Hooper historical-player service.
The Owner accepted the residual risk of displaying attributed player names and historical facts. This is an independent project, not an opinion from external counsel or an endorsement by the NBA, any team, or any player.
Build A Hooper is operated by PENG CHAI, an individual operator based in Oregon, United States. The service is provided at buildahooper.dev. For support, privacy or deletion requests, intellectual-property complaints, or security reports, email support@buildahooper.dev.
Eligibility
Build A Hooper is a general-audience service and is not directed to children under 13. A person under 13 must not use it. Other minors may use it only with parent or legal-guardian permission where required.
Entertainment service and fictional output
Build A Hooper is an independent basketball strategy and entertainment project. The service separates pinned historical facts and source inputs from site-created qualitative assessments and fictional simulation output. It does not predict real players, teams, games, seasons, or events and is not betting, scouting, coaching, financial, or professional advice.
Independent and unofficial
Build A Hooper is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by the NBA, any NBA team, or any player. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners. This disclosure is not legal clearance, proof of permission, or proof of non-infringement.
Limited permission
Subject to these Terms, PENG CHAI grants a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the service for personal, non-commercial entertainment.
Public links and Same Board Duel
Anyone who obtains a published result or challenge link can view its allowlisted content; the link is not private and noindex is not access control. In the tested local build, Same Board Duel reuses the same immutable, versioned board contract and candidate order, including corresponding refresh states. It does not promise identical choices, outcomes, performance, or perfect fairness.
Prohibited conduct
Do not attempt unauthorized access; bypass rate, origin, CSRF, or access controls; interfere with operation; introduce malware; abuse automation or scraping; impersonate others; infringe rights; probe security without authorization; or place credentials, secrets, or personal information in public URLs.
Ownership, sources, and third-party rights
PENG CHAI claims rights only in software, original expression, site-created assessments, fictional simulation output, visual assets, and other material owned or validly licensed by the operator. Approved textual identities and limited biographical fields are derived from Wikidata under CC0; selected historical RAPTOR inputs are used under CC BY 4.0 with attribution and a modification notice. Those source licenses do not grant publicity, trademark, false-affiliation, or endorsement rights.
Availability and deletion
Rules, versions, features, results, and challenges may change or become unavailable. No promise is made that service will be uninterrupted or history stored permanently. A valid deletion request makes active result and linked challenge objects unavailable in tested local code, without promising deletion from every cache, backup, log, email system, or third-party copy.
No purchases in this candidate
This candidate does not offer purchases, subscriptions, trials, advertising, or paid entitlements. Payment features require separate pricing, checkout, cancellation, refund, tax, processor, legal, and QA approval.
Disclaimers, liability, and disputes — withheld
Warranty disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnity, governing law, venue, arbitration, class-action waiver, and related enforcement terms are intentionally withheld pending dated Owner/counsel decisions. Oregon operation alone does not establish those clauses.
Changes and contact
Material changes should receive notice appropriate to their effect. Email support@buildahooper.dev for support, privacy or deletion requests, IP complaints, or security reports.
